At Cimarron Family Vision Center, we provide the highest quality and most thorough vision and eye care in a friendly, comfortable, and professional atmosphere. We are equipped to examine patients of all ages and abilities.
Dr. Thomas offers a large range of vision care services to include the following:
- Comprehensive Eye Examinations for All Ages, including Infants and Preschoolers
- Vision Therapy for All Ages
- Treatment for
Learning-related Vision Problems which can include or relate to
ADD/ADHD,
Dyslexia,
Eye Tracking and/or Eye Teaming, and
Reading Problems
- Treatment for Binocular Vision Conditions, such as
Amblyopia (lazy eye),
Convergence Insufficiency (near vision disorder),
Diplopia (double vision), Lack of Stereopsis (two-eyed depth perception), and
Strabismus (cross-eyed, wandering eye, eye turns, etc.)
- Visual Rehabilitation for Patients with Special Needs, such as Developmental Delays or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), including Autism, Stroke, Whiplash, CP, MS, etc.
- Treatment for Stress-related Visual Problems, including Blurred Vision, Visual Stress from Reading and Computers, Eye Strain Headaches, and/or Vision-induced Stomachaches or Motion Sickness
- Sports Vision Correction and/or Improvement
The Doctor
Amy Thomas, OD was born and raised in North Dakota. While traveling around the world with the US Army Reserves, she completed her Bachelor degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Dr. Thomas received her Doctorate of Optometry from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. During her optometric studies, she completed a specialty rotation in vision therapy in La Jolla, California. After receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree, Dr. Thomas served three years in the US Army in Heidelberg, Germany where she perfected her basic optometric clinical skills. She then moved to Tucson, Arizona where she is now specializing in pediatrics, vision-related learning problems, and vision therapy. She is in the process of completing numerous vision therapy seminars to help provide high quality vision therapy services to her patients.
Dr. Thomas is a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD), the Optometric Extension Program (OEP), Parents Active for Vision Education (PAVE), the American Optometric Association (AOA), and the Southern Arizona Optometric Society (SAOS).
